Apartment

This lovely traditional Catalan house stands alone. Tolo is not in a village. We are perched high on a forested hillside in the beautiful Montsec Natural Park offering comfortable accommodation with warmly rustic interiors and well equipped rooms which are let out as an apartment. The gardens and terraces are for the use of our guests.



The accommodation all of which is on the first floor of the house with separate entrance comprises:

Outside:
Terraces provided with tables chairs loungers and shaded areas overlook the gardens all with spectacular views. Beds of flowers herbs and fruit trees buzz with an abundance of insects birds and butterflies, overhead the griffon vultures golden eagle or lammergeier may be spotted. Surrounded by mixed forests and cultivated farmland we are well away from busy roads, the nearest village is 7km away and Tremp our main market town for the area is a scenic 27km drive.

The valley beyond the garden drops away dramatically and rises in the distance along its southern edge to the ridges of the stunning Montsec escarpment. We live on the ground floor of the house and you may find us working in our organic vegetable garden that often has veggies to spare, we have plenty of information on activities you can enjoy in the area including maps reference books on the flora and fauna, and a wealth of local knowledge to share. We provide a detailed guide booklet with walks scenic routes shopping restaurants etc and whilst we are always here to help you get the best out of your holiday we are also easy to avoid!

Prices and Rental Periods for Apartment:
2- 5 persons, 2 bedrooms

September to June 330€ (£300)
July to August 440€ (£400)
Christmas New Year and Easter 440€ (£400)

Notes on Prices and Payment

Prices for the apartment are per week. We request a 20% deposit paid by cheque or deposited in our bank account to confirm a reservation with the balance due 4 weeks before arrival. Payment can be made in euros or sterling.

Central Heating in winter is provided early mornings and evenings, if you require heating through the day there will be an additional cost.

* Any Breakages can either be replaced or paid for

Changeover Day
Bookings are for a minimum of 3 nights September - June and a minimum 7 nights in July and August. Check in 4p.m.– 9p.m. Check out by 12noon day of departure.

Change over day in July & August is on Saturday.

Walking locally in the Montsec Natural Park. High mountain walking in the Aigues Tortes National Park & Val Fosca. Walks through the spectacular Mont Rebei Gorge.

Climbing all grades in the Vila Nova & Terradets Gorges, the latter with grade 9 routes on the renowned Bruixes face.
Scenic drives on quiet well maintained roads through traditional Catalan mountain villages dotted with romanesque churches & towers. Drive through the dramatic gorges of Vila Nova & Terradets to see the gigantic south facing cliffs of the Montsec escarpment. Or head into the high mountains.

Magical secluded plunge pools near to the house. Vila Nova village swimming pool with bar & views of the Montsec. The pristine lakes of St Antoni & Terradets offer beaches & quiet inlets to enjoy a plunge with a view of the high mountains. Kayaking peacefully on the St Antoni & Terradets lakes.

Llavorsi - White water rafting just a drive away in the high mountains.

Paradise for bird watchers with a good range of resident birds & raptors augmented in the spring/summer by the arrival of the exotic migrants from the south.

Wildflowers insects & butterflies in profusion include orchids ophrys & the pale snapdragon indigenous to the Montsec.
This area is known for its unique geology & palaeontology, it is a site of many dinosaur remains- you can see dinosaur footprints on the outskirts of Isona where there is also a very good museum.

Vineyards & bodegas - denominacion Costers de Segre
Local markets & shops with good selection of charcuterie cheeses olive oils & wines.
Choice of restaurants offering local cuisine.
