Majestic rock faces Montsec

Terradets

Vila Nova Gorge

Les Bruixes Terradets

The beautiful Montsec region of the Catalan Pyrenees offers an incredible & diverse range of climbing for all grades in the stunning gorges of Terradets (3omin drive) & Vila Nova (10 min drive) almost on our doorstep.

Best time for climbing; Winter early spring & autumn

Terradets - This stunning limestone gorge is dominated by the La Paret de les Bagasses buttress, which is 500m high. Though some routes do go the full length of this big wall the majority stop at a ledge roughly half way up. Here there are over 50 equipped and semi-equipped routes ranging from 5 to 7a+. The rock climbing is essentially on steep slabs with small holds, always demanding good footwork, strong fingers and a clear head. Roc Regina provides some of the finest multi pitch routes in Spain.

There are also some single pitch sports climbing here mainly at Els Isards, which has many quality mid grade routes and the stunning Paret de les Bruixes. Recently developed Les Bruixes forms an with its overhanging bowl of limestone rock with tufas ranging from slightly to very overhanging, this is for experienced sports climbers mainly at F7 and above.

Vilanova de Meia - This is a popular gorge, which offers good quality sports climbing up to 200m high on good quality limestone rock. There are over 50 bolted and semi-bolted routes from F4+ to F7b on the main big wall of Roca dels Arcs. As well as the long multi-pitch routes there are also plenty of single and 2-pitch sports routes across all grades within this beautiful and very peaceful gorge.

Testimony
"Climbers, be careful when deciding to stay at Casa Pete y Lou´s, because it very well may change the way you look at the Spanish climbing scene. There are over 100 routes, within a half hour, with ample long moderate routes and an abundance of challenging grades, all on clean limestone. Casa Pete y Lou offers a warm shower and a comfy bed to make for a perfect end of a day.

If you want to stay content with, crowded hostals, cold showers and bland food typical of the Spanish scene, best to stay away, for Casa Pete y Lou may destroy your perceptions althogether."
