This agricultural area, with its fields of wheat, corn and sunflowers, is interspersed with beautiful old almond and olive groves. Local vineyards provide delicious wines.

The area is renowned for its Romanesque architecture, its incredibly diverse geology, and is a site of dinosaur footprints and fossilized egg remains (Isona).

Our house sits at 1,000 mts. alt, just north of the wonderful Montsec escarpment (where Mediterranean flora and fauna meet alpine). This is cut through by the dramatic gorges of Terradets and Vilanova de Meià. The latter is just a 30-minute walk (10-min. drive) from the house.

We are a 2.5 hr. drive from both Barcelona and Andorra. Barcelona is supplied by low-cost flights and car hire.

Girona and Reus airports are 3hr + 2 1/2 hrs respectively.
